Megan Whelan, Speech Language Pathologist/Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM)
Megan Whelan, M.S. CCC-SLP, COM is a Speech Pathologist and Director at NWA Speech & Language Center PLLC. NWA Speech offers boutique speech therapy services in Northwest Arkansas. Megan holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) and is a Certified Orofacial Myologist (COM) and Qualified Orofacial Myologist (QOM). Megan received her bachelor’s in psychology from University of Missouri-Columbia and her master’s in communications sciences disorders from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.
Megan is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IOAM), and Arkansas Speech Language & Hearing Association (ArkSHA). She is a multi-year recipient of the ASHA Award for Continuing Education (ACE) for professionals who demonstrate their commitment to lifelong learning.
Megan has been practicing Speech Pathology for eleven years. Megan specializes in speech sound disorders, language delays, and Orofacial Myofunctional disorders. She has worked in private practice, in private schools, Autism-specific programs, and school-based Speech Pathologist. Megan has a wide variety of experience ranging from public school to private practice therapy in Colorado, Arizona, Connecticut, Ohio, and Arkansas over the last decade. Megan currently holds her Speech Language Pathologist practicing license in Connecticut, Ohio, and Arkansas and continues to provide Teletherapy and in-person services to clients in these states.
During the week, Megan also works as a Pediatric and Adult Feeding and Myofunctional Therapist in Bentonville, Arkansas and Cincinnati, Ohio, and as a Moderator and Course Content Developer for SpeechTherapyPD.com When she is not practicing as a Speech Pathologist, she spends her time volunteering as an American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) S.T.E.P. mentor, a Feeding Matters Volunteer, as an Arkansas Children’s Auxiliary member, and as an active member in the Northwest Arkansas Junior League. When she is not taking additional Continuing Education courses or planning thematic therapy units, she enjoys spending her free time exploring new restaurants with her husband, making all the memories as a twin mama, building pillow forts, reading books, and playing card games with her family.
